Roster Presentation

This is my first offseason dealing with a lot of roster turnover, and I'm finding the team roster screen difficult to read during free agency. It is hard to keep track of the current state of my roster - who has a contract and who doesn't. Switching to the contracts screen does show me $0 or actual contracts, but you have a mix where newly-signed guys are shown in italics along with no-contract guys who ended the season as inactive.

I think we need something to better show position groupings and who has a contract vs who is a free agent. I would argue that active vs inactive is unimportant before the games begin, so maybe use italics for "no contract" instead?

Otherwise, use color to represent contract status, and separate position groups by some physical marker: a blank line, a drawn line, etc.

There should be a view "no current or pending contracts" - does that view help at all? Normally that's the screen I look at in early FA to make sure I have an offer on all the players from my roster that I want to.

No, not really. That doesn't show what I still have on the roster.

Honestly the reverse of that screen would be more useful - show me only the guys that DO have contracts. I don't necessarily care about signing my specific free agents, I want a view of what I have right now so I can find the gaps to go fill them.

Ok, gotcha. I can see that, I'll whip something up for that view but it probably won't be before the early FA is over.

One other view that might help in the mean time is the Team->Position Distribution screen. It doesn't show you the ratings of the various positions but does at least give you a number. I believe it should only show you players currently under contract. (Let me know if I'm wrong, I don't have an easy way to verify as all my players are signed and my test leagues are all in stages outside of early FA)

That screen is correct, it does not include guys under contract.

Just in time for the last 5 hours before the end of early free agency ... I've added the filter to show only players currently under contract.
