odd contracts

I often see players in our league whose contracts make no sense to me.

For example, this player:

How is a player of this quality signed for so long with no bonus and barely any salary?

This player signed a contract with St Louis which included a heavy bonus (most likely 75%). He was then traded to Cincinnati. St Louis incurred all of the bonus salary and all Cincinnati is responsible for is the base salary.

The lesson here kids is don't make contracts like this and then decide to trade the player. That is unless you want to put yourself in cap ****.

Not really. It's actually a pretty decent strategy if you have a roster you're pleased with and have cap space to go out and overpay for a free agent, then trade him away for picks or something. If you look at St. Louis, they're doing fine with the cap.

It's almost difficult to get in to cap trouble in this game.

Team 23 is in decent shape actually as they do not have many picks, Cinci.... I have no idea what they are doing.

Actually, I think they are both in trouble because they are at the max and have few draft picks to bring in young players to rebuild.

Check out my team. http://mfn2.myfootballnow.com/team/6
I traded a lot of older players and got in cap trouble this season. But I have 22 first, second and third round picks in the next three drafts after my cap problems go away this season.
