Re: 0.4.1 coverage defenses

Anyone else think the coverage defenses are not as improved as advertised in 0.4.1? I tried using a 50/50 defensive game plan of coverages and blitzes in several games over the last couple of weeks, and the coverages just keep getting ripped and giving up much higher averages per play. Is that due to my defensive players being more familiar with blitz plays and it takes time and # of plays to adjust? So, either coverages are still not as effective as blitzes overall or the transition to using more coverage defenses with existing players is going to cost yardage, scores, and games. Maybe some of both? Was wondering if others who used blitz heavy defensive schemes are experiencing the same or similar. I'd like to be able to use more coverages, but they are still not any where near the results produced from the blitzes.

All though the game is still pass oriented, it does seem that the game is starting to focus on the "WHYs" it is pass oriented. While PASS BLOCKING OL still seems a must, one must start thinking about the ground game to balance out the offense. LBs Blitz?....Run.......CBs getting Burned?....think M2M

I will take it a step further and point at how effective a balanced blitz scheme is the most effective . My defense in LG 1 was much better/ consistent while blitzes and Man defenses were called even though my defense in general is better at zone coverage .

A very similar result was seen in LG 87, but they are more suited for man but imo are better at zone. My MLB has fallen off as I drifted away from a very tight blitz oriented man defense.

The only big difference I see is how familiar they are with plays on the defensive side of the ball. I will wait eight games and see them become more familiar but slow wrs getting behind deep zones in a pass key makes no sense to me. I don't care if my defender has 44 speed or the other has 73 zone.

I see guys with sub 50 man coverage still holding wrs to sub 40 catch rates. 100 speed and being very familiar with blitzes is one guys only strong points. Also, check out mlb for Tennessee ? In lg one ....lHiggins . ...literally this guy has no skills but he is making plays at 33 speed. Sub 20 discipline gets him only one penalty in over 800 snaps. Idk, but I do know these guys blitz alot.....even though it balanced .

I made this same gripe when the overuse penalty was put in . ....possibly the game could come down to the team with the coach with the most blitzes in his book. Right now I may not be,completely accurate but I know I wasn't that far off ether , because zone has too many holes and will never favor a slower player.

It's the generic applications tied in to what happens when blitzes are called still rule defense . It's just different in the way the qb interacts. I have see 8 sacks in 500 pass attempts. Also 80 in those same amount attempts .

Unrealistic Catch overs still prevail and wide open drops are highschool like. The whole thing needs to be tightened up.

Oh yeah run blocks are broke too. If I haven't touched on that enough already

I will add my two cents worth here. Will we see our player get familiar with these plays quickly? at all? Will these plays we are now being FORCED to integrate into our game plan Net better results? I am not a proponent of using the same of a limited # of plays. I am glad to see the game changing. It keeps it fresh and interesting! As long as the fixes work. It makes no sense to force teams to use plays and strategies that don't work, (a penalty in itself) to aviod an uveruse penalty?!? Double jeopardy?

Why bother to have coaches with offensive or defensive styles, other than the playbook I see little use for the coaches anyway! Maybe they are just there to make it more real??? more like the NFL??? because I like when the real NFL forces it's team to use certain plays or faces penalties for over use:( I know we could have some kinda scandal> Oh that's right already have that (ahhhh May be some thing like Teeball where everybody wins and everybody gets a trophy and everything is fair and nice and happy. We could all get pink uniforms with yellow daisies on them and sing I'm a little tea pot! I do love the addtion of the live chat box on the screen so GM"S can get together and have a cry in real time maybe we could add some puupy videos next update for when things are too stressful. Love the game JDB glad I don't have to referee all the BS! HAPPY FATHERS DAY! lmao:)

There is an overabundance of kick runbscks for TD's as well. ZWTF...lol. Meat you are out of your mind...your right...but out of you flipping mind!!!!!! I don't care for the fairness rules and t ball mentality.
