Running the Ball

I haven't researched it extensively, but it sure seems that rushing offense has been made ineffective. I have multiple teams, and noticed none of them run the ball very well any more (and a couple have great OLines.)

Running the clock out? Forget about it. Lucky to get 2 yards per carry, punt on 4th & 5 and burn less than 2minutes of the clock. I've experienced this on both ends - protecting a lead and forcing punts while behind.

I suspect the recent update has something to do with it, and just now really noticing the trend across multiple leagues.

Your evaluation is accurate. Running the ball is harder than it used to be. I'm hoping that it is addressed in the newest update.
I also believe that passing is still overpowered. The newest update is supposed to address this to some degree.
Fingers crossed that it balances things a little bit. :)

Thanks CrazyRazor. I was pretty sure this was going on, but hadn't seen it discussed anywhere.

I play with a few teams, but there is a core group of 4 that are more serious to me - and two of them I've spent a 2+ seasons trying to develop a powerful run game and the current seasons are very disappointing.

I guess back to the drawing board and try to install a "Run and Shoot" offense. :-)

At the end of the day, those who figure out the holes on the programming logic win...those who try to play football lose. Just a sad fact.

Shutting down the run has been fairly easy for many seasons now when relatively even teams play each other.

Not going to lie, one of the things I had in mind when I wrote this guide was how easy it was to gouge teams that didn't game plan for the run: https://theefl.myfootballnow.com/community/3/3581
