Can you change who lines up where?

So I'm fairly new to this Sim, and I have a question. Now I understand that you can set players to any position you like, such as having a RB play at WR. But what I am wondering is can you, for specific plays, have a certain player line up in a certain place? For example, for a Deep post, can I set my fastest guy to line up outside, to have him run the Post Route? Or, does does this always go to WR1 on the Depth Chart?

Any help would be appreciated... I am probably missing something obvious lol.

My Team > Depth Chart > Over-Ride Tab > Toggle Away.

You can find everything you want to accomplish there with getting the players into proper positions for your strategy. :)

Also, you can't do it specifically to an individual play, however, the drop down window provided goes through all the offensive and defensive formations. You can find the corresponding play(s) in each formation and work in your ideas that way.

In the depth chart, there is an 'Overrides' tab. You can't specifically set override positions for particular plays, but you can set them by formation.

It is possible ... If you want to get really detailed, you can apply overrides by field position, down, and distance. Then you set rules that ensure certain plays are called in those different situations.

What I do is look for personnel sets that have more than one formation available. Then I try to use one formation for pass plays with my passing team on the field, and a different formation for runs with my running team on the field.

This answers my question!

Thank you both.
