Like was stated previously, custom player weights make it difficult to compare rosters because they can be quite different. Just take quarterback for example, what are the top attributes under each owners weights? What is the order of importance?

1. Pass accuracy
2. intelligence
7. Arm strength
3. field of vision
8.Pass release
4. look off defense
5. Speed
6. scramble
10.Hard count
9. Avoid fumble
11. Discipline

I look at my top 5 as a package deal, though pass accuracy is #1. When evaluating QB's, I add up the 5 ratings and rank them that way, the rest of the attributes are just tiebreakers.

1) Pass Accuracy
1a) Arm Strength
1b) Pass Release
1c) Field of vision
1d) Look off defense

Some people swear QB's need intelligence, and maybe they do but I've won a championship with Stephan Labelle, who has 15 intelligence and thinks the Wonderlic Test has something to do with licking suckers. He was also slower than Peyton Manning (11 speed). I do look at scramble ability and avoid fumble, but I mainly concentrate on the big 5.

You can win with a dumb QB, but you have to have a transcendent defense or otherwise great roster. Once a QB is below < 80 INT, he's basically Eli Manning. He may win you games, and he may suddenly throw four, or six, INTs.

Correct. While it's true I won a championship or 2 with him as the QB, those teams featured a great defense and strong running game. He still finished his career with a nearly 2-1 TD/INT ratio, and postseason, he was 26/10 in his career. Maybe if I had a better QB, I don't lose 4 title games but I had who I had.

Why do I keep beating teams that have considerably more talent?

I finally looked at his league, team and opponents and I'm a little confused.

His team is Cincinnati and this is his 2nd season as owner. The 1st season he went 0-16 and year two, he is 3-1.

He lost his first game to a good team in Carolina who went 9-6-1 the previous season and Is 4-0 in the current season.

He won the next 3 games against:

Tennessee who is owned by Punisher who has had 15 straight losing seasons.

New Orleans who has a new owner this season after 3 seasons of AI ownership and has 8 straight losing seasons.

Pittsburgh who has a new owner this season after the previous owner went 16-30-2 the previous 3 seasons.

He hasnt beat anyone with a history of winning in the recent past, 2 teams have 1st year owners and Punisher owns over 60 teams and cant possibly have the time to properly gameplan for every league he is in.

The answer is simple, he drafted an elite rookie QB who is developing nicely and has a couple +90 speed WRs along with a nice TE and 3rd possession type reciever to throw to. That coupled with a last place schedule should make for a decent season.

The shocker would be if he starts beating Setherick, Infinity, warthog or MWD but none of them are on his schedule so he may make the playoffs before meeting one of them.

Great draft pick and the team could be a force with a couple more nice additions in the future.

This sounds accurate. Though I will ad that each game I have been a heavy dog based on point spread shown previous to the game. Almost won the Carolina game as well a missed FG and then a thrown pick in the red zone at the end of 4th Qtr. I would have been 4-0.

What I am really trying to find out is if I'm in the right league. I like a challenge rather than a cake walk. Played at Red Zone over 5 years and CSFBL over a decade. I'm no stranger to a learning curve and getting my *** handed to me for a few seasons. I much prefer that to going from worst to playoffs instantly.

Trying to get a handle of what league would be a good fit for me. Any suggestions?

19 isn't the worst public league, but it's got several AI owners right now. I'm partial to it because it's the league I started in, and for a long time, was one of the top competitive leagues in MFN (IoT, Bryson, Blackflys, Lellow/RunTheGame/JChicago, catalist).

Unfortunately, that's happening to a lot of the competitive public leagues. There are a lot of holes in 2 for instance. And that league was ALWAYS full.

Custom leagues run by active league admins that remain full or close to it offer the highest competetion.

19 wont be a cakewalk as there are great owners in the league like Seth, Infinity, warthog to name a few.

This early in the season, you are benefiting from an 0-16 schedule plus the QB you drafted as a result of that is elite level and unusually advanced towards his potential in his rookie season.

I run 5 leagues which are highly competitive, you dont qualify for the Champions league but you could join one of my other leagues if you like.

Beyond that the USFL

League of Legends

NFFL

Think of the MFN-# leagues as the wild west where owners learn the game but have plenty of teams the AI has done a number on via there control.

Custom leagues are typically run by an active league admin which add content in the forums and actively recruit owners so teams dont get destroyed by the AI as frequently.

Anyway good luck.

Edit to add

Point spreads are based solely on the games power rankings which are broken and not very accurate. Plenty of custom leagues offer there own personalized power rankings as a result.

Take your league....you are 3-1 and still ranked 32nd in the games power rankings despite the fact only 4 teams have a better record.

You are 12th in total offense, 7th in total defense with a 3-1 record. Your strength of victory wouldnt be great but with personalized power rankings like I do, you would be in the top 16 easily. I use record, total offense and defense, turnover margin plus factor in ranking of opponent played to calculate weekly rankings. The games power rankings are a mystery formula but clearly you arent the 32nd team in the league.

Yes, don't pay much mind to point spreads, they are mostly window dressing. Good luck to you.

Thanks for the praise for my League, CJ.

League of Legends has 2 teams available if interested.

Kimberley Diamonds
And
Tiger Bay Sabretooths.

Both went to the playoffs the last 2 years and Kimberley won it all in season 1.

Send me a pm if interested in either team as TBS Owner has agreed to see his team through the draft if I can't find an owner but will step aside if a new custodian becomes available

Rogue was never in 19 tho, so I can't throw it in the mix.
