Some questions

By Guy Debord

Is there any home field advantage in the game algorithm like a weakened offense of the away team?

And who determines the specific play call within the adjusted percentages in the game plan? Only the Head Coach? Or have the QB respectively the MLB in the defense any influence? Maybe with their intelligence skils?

There is a slight homefield advantage because of crowd noise.

The HC determines all the play calling unless you have your own personal settings under Gameplan - Rules. There you can completely take over all play calling during the game. You can be very aggressive with it or maybe just want certain situation where you want to make sure you run your own plays.

For example you can have it set so you go for it on 4th down during different situations during the game and pick which plays to run.

What? How do you pick which plays to run?

Nice to hear. Especially for a Seahawks Fan. :)

One reason why I asked that is my first pre season game.

My head coach called in defense 26 times (!) the play "Dime Normal 4 Deep Zone under" (LB: Zone, Sec: 4-Deep Zone) while I adjusted 4-Deep Zone only by 10 to 20 percent in relation to down/field position.

At the same time all the other 29 defensive plays called only 40 times all together.

So how and why my head coach could done that?

I meant more that you could pick whether to be even more specific as far as running or passing in certain situations. I wish you could pick specific plays for specific situations.

I honestly dont get to deep into the rules aspect to much.

In your gameplanning screen there is a button at the bottom of each quadrant that says "view plays" - it will list each play in your active playbook and the probability that they will be called in any given situation. One thing that may have happened is that you might have only had a 10% weight to 4-deep zone, but the probability is a combination of all the weights for each play - and the best way to see how that algorithm resolves is to look at the "view plays" popup for each situation.

Seems to me that most everyone is trying to make this game much more complicated than it really is.

Trust me, i keep it very simple without over thinking or game planning and it works fine for me.
