when a great question posted to a forum thread devolves into drafting qb's to be rb's there may just be a problem with player creation and the incredibly thin draft pool post 3rd round.
I, personally, will change rookies to the position I want them to actually play in.
with the exception of o and d lines.
I leave them be and change post TC.
Any other "hopefuls" I change pre-TC.
Usually.
My most common exception is a late round WR I know is a better RB. If they pop as a trash WR, and can handle the weight gain to speed loss (over 80 must be the end result), i will keep a wr convert to rb as a wr for TC to boost catch and route.
That's just me.
O/D line: TC and then sort.
WR to RB or Vice versa: Wait until after training camp. Hoping to boost the catch and route.
All other I convert BEFORE TC, because as a person mentioned - weight transfers begin with TC.
If weight gain or loss is the be all end all post position change, wait until after TC.
Let the secondary attributes blossom as TC progression occurs.
I hold this method true for rookies through vets, and every bit of it relies upon a rookie popping
or a vet which already has positive progress.
