Re: Speed Ratings

I would like a split Rating under Speed based on Overall Speed/Position Speed

For instance, a 325lb OL with a speed rating of 84 is no way in reality as fast as a 200lb WR with the same rating. But he could be the fastest at his position. Therefore, I suggest a P/O Speed Rating.

For instance, my 325lb OL with a speed rating of 84 would read something like 84P/42OV

This can be utilized across the board in case I wanted to move a LB to CB or vice-versa

Thnx
But it really doesn't give an idea of how my 325lb OL with 84(74max by your ratings) compares to the rest of the league. Is he 10% faster than other players at his position or is his overall speed rating is 62.16 (74/100=.74x84=62.16)

In my "test" league, my 320lb WR with 95 speed leads the league in yards and receptions. Can you imagine what his stats would be if he was 1/2 the weight? That's why I am suggesting a Pos/Overall rating.

Fastest would be tied into a variety of factors ....not just speed rating.

The speed rating is universal . The difference is how they fatigue and that is saying acceleration is the same. The player with higher acceleration will be faster pending weight and speed are the same.

If a player is double weight but has the same speed/acceleration he is penalized each frame with a higher rate of fatigue , and I am assuming his fatigue recovers slower as well . Those two factors make him run slower.

So with postions being tied to weight there are fastest at the position , but for that number to be completely true thier weights will have to have trended all the way to the ideal weight for that position .
