Re: Player's Trade Scores

I think most on here, who have been playing several months or more, would agree that the player's trade values are not accurate, and not even close in many cases, which makes trading much more difficult and precarious. The trade value, in addition to the AI player evaluation & rating, discounts or overlooks speed, which is one of the most, if not the most, important attributes for defensive players and RBs. It also does not take performance into considertion, which can be skewed by team strength & other factors, but should be a part of a players evaluation and rating.

My best current example of how far off the trade value can get, is my RB1 on the Indy Asylum in the Agent 86 league, Lucas Watts. His default rating is 48, my weights have him at 64. He has had an outstanding, All Pro level career over his first 5 seasons. At the halfway point of the current season, he is averaging an amazing 6.7 yds per carry. For his 4 1/2 yr career, he has gained over 4,000 yds with a great 5.8 ypc and 29 TDs scored. Compare those stats to most any other back, he is in the top ten across all the leagues for the same career period.

So... want to guess what his trade value is ?? .............................................................

His trade value is basically ZERO. Click on his name, bring up his card and have a look.....

I wouldnt trade him for a TE with a trade value over 2000, and there are a lot of those, which causes trade imbalances, along with 2000 value OLs. There needs to be a serious "re-tooling" of the player evaluations & trade values, which includes position importance (DB/WR vs TE/FB for example), and age/experience of the players. In addition to Watts, Ive got many undervalued and underated players with less than 50 trade values who consistently are among the lead leaders in the stat-relevant categories, like sacks for a DL, or efficiency rating for a QB. If this problem/situation can even get 50% more relevant or accurate evaluation, it will go a long way to improving the trades and roster decisions.

In total agreement with trade score problems but also with the whole draft pick/pool system which may have value in real life but simply does not work in the context of this game. IN PARTICULAR is the problem of the trade scores STILL massively overvaluing older players which allows teams to trade off, 1 for 1 old useless retirement age players for the very top players in every draft.

I believe that it is useless to try to police bad trades by league moderators or by trying to oust multiple accounts which are at the root of much of the trade bs.
I believe the ONLY way to stop the trade shenanigans is by fixing the trade scores. Once these unbalanced trades are no longer profitable, as enforced by the game, the nonsense will stop and there would be no further need for EXTERNAL enforcement.

Specific suggestions:

1. Make all 1st round picks in advance of the current year worth 2600 points since it is not known where a team will finish in future years. Similarly, assign each round a set value (say 1500 for round 2, 1000 for round 3, etc).

2. Make the value of any pick correspond precisely to the value of the player available at that point in the draft i.e. the 187th player available has a trade score of 232 so that pick is worth 232. (Adjusted after the current season is over for next season).

3. Strengthen the talent available in the middle rounds of the draft. Currently only about the top 20 players available are grade A players and by the end of the first round only C+ to C - players are available. This enforces the tendency for teams to hoard #1 and #2 picks and trade away all the other useless picks. Rounds 5-7 are nearly completely useless and i'd rather not have to make picks for those guys at all.

4. There needs to be a better mix of high volatility to low volatility players. Teams that have a tight cap should be able to pick some guaranteed low vol players. Currently there are not enough of these available and virtually every draft is now a giant **** shoot and there is no conservative option. Bad gameplay.

I agree with all of the suggestions in the above post.

There is absolutely no talent available in the middle rounds. Even the best volatile booming players will not reach 80 once the third round hits.

And picks are wayyyyyyyy too low in trade value. Trading for an aging bad veteran should not require a third round pick, just to match trade scores.
