Merge the user created leagues that are going to be deleted

Considering now that user created leagues expire in 90 days if they dont have 16 owners i think the next step is to MERGE those user created leagues that are on the CHOPPING BLOCK that have 90 days or they expire and really this idea would work because you would have 21 owners (20 owners if 1 user abandoned his four teams and didnt want to be in merged league)

with that being said here are those leagues that are on chopping block with 90 days or else they expire

name of league======link of league=============stage league is in=time league spins=how many users are in that league
College Football = https://cfb.myfootballnow.com/ 1 preseason 2:39 am 6 users
Maddox Football League = https://maddox.myfootballnow.com/ free agency 8:00 pm 6 users
ONS Football = https://ons.myfootballnow.com/ allocation Draft 4 users
Sweden All Stars = https://allstars.myfootballnow.com/ 2 preseason 9:01 pm 1 user
Turf Wars = https://turfwars.myfootballnow.com/ late free agency 7:30 am 7 users

all told 5 leagues with a total of 21 owners but if you were to add that 1 users 4 teams you would be at 24 teams that have a owner though that one user would probably have be forced to pick between those 4 teams and decide which one to keep and which ones to get rid of .

anyway back to the topic Merge the user created leagues that are going to be deleted because it would be better this way than have 5 leagues that have 90 days and they expire .

also i think it would be better to have just 1 league that is user created league that was merged and maybe might later down the road have to be deleted than have 5 leagues that are user created and have to be deleted.

last i checked 1 is better than 5.

btw JDB you dont have to do it today , do it next week , do it even next month , etc. because well you do have 3 months which actually is 5-2-2019 before you have to make a decision about this.

anyway thanks for reading my thread and probably RANT (didnt mean to make this so LONG)

I see what you are going for. But in merging leagues, some things would have to be addressed and figured out.

Like, how do you merge statistics and results of previous seasons from multiple leagues into one? Especially if the leagues aren't all in the same season? For instance, if one league is in 2034, how do you merge with a league that's in 2021? And another league that's in 2025?

Are all players from all of the leagues kept? If yes, then the free agent pool would become stacked with talent from all of the teams that didn't have owners. If no, then what happens to statistics from previous seasons, especially regarding players that moved on from owned teams to other teams that have no owner.

Does jdb need to create new League Champ and Division Champ badges that now also indicate what defunct league that championship occurred in?

Does the Hall of Champions page need to account for champions from each league for each season? (This one may be one of the easiest to address and make happen.)

These are just quickly off the top of my head. There may be other logistics that would need to be addressed.

Perhaps all the issues I just raised could be avoided by starting a new league from scratch, but teams get to keep their players but with all stats wiped clean for the new league? Similar to starting a brand new league but skipping the 40+ rounds of drafting?

In this scenario, perhaps there is a question of, do the players retain their familiarity to specific plays in the playbooks?

well College Football is in (2020) , Maddox (2020) , ONS Football (2019) , Sweden All Stars (2018) and Turf Wars (1962)

guess you would just put in the stats/results in then put like the Intials of what league it is so people would know what stats they are looking at like if they see CF and see 2019 and/or 2018 by that then they would know it is league College Football those stats/results are coming from.

I would say so because how awesome would this be if you could get players from different years in the free agent market to the point SIGN me up for this.

Yes because that i would think bring some serious awesomeness to seeing league champions , division champions , etc. from a league that is now a defunct league because then i would think it would give people motivation to see if they could do better than that record , come close to that record or maybe do worse than that record which i would think could mean this could go so many different ways with that knowledge.

yes it should i would think it would make this league more unique than say NCAA (Bryson's league) or even Private 75 to the point people would just JOIN this merged league on the notification how awesome and unique this league would be that it would be 1st of its' kind to the point who knows people would go as far SUGGESTING a idea where they could MERGE leagues to get that awesomeness and Uniqueness of a merged league.

Though that awesomeness and uniqueness would only count or matter if the idea not only was suggested but was put into the place where it was great idea or added something to this website that would push it along for the better .

Now if it didnt work or all crappy then people would leave faster than they do now when a league is abandoned or whatever else reason they leave.

Not sure this would a great thing to have because if this happens whos to say someone wouldnt just try to get the all the knowledgeable players on offense and on defense and have a considerable advantage over someone else.

so i would say the familiarity would have to be reset in this case.

Btw: i tried to make it easier to read each one by not having so much typing in each message

I don't know much about coding, but I can't help but wonder how complicated all this would be to keep all the stats and history to each team in the new league. Right now, every league and its stats are organized exactly the same as each other. Merging leagues and keeping all the stats of each league and labeling them for each individual league sounds like it would require a new template of how the stats are organized. This sounds like an extremely complicated addition!

One thing I do know about coding is that it can be like a fragile spiderweb. Sometimes when changes are made to improve or add something, they might inadvertently cause problems in unexpected ways. Sometimes in ways that might seem unrelated. The complaints about gameplay in 4.3 and 4.4 are a perfect example.

This would probably be very complicated to get working right. It sounds good in theory, but I don't think it would be worth the time when there are a lot more important issues that need worked on.
