Additional stats

In addition to the current stats, I'd really like to see:

Rushing:
YAC - Yards after contact
AV - average yards per game
(BT - Broken Tackles)

Recieving:
YAC - Yards after catch

Defensive:
YCA - Yards per catch allowed.

I'd like to touch on the last one especially. Most of us have probably read the (setherick?) post on reading and understanding the thrown at vs catches allowed metric, where around 40-50% might feel kind of bad, it's actually quite decent, since it only factors in that one player in the defense and you -- typically -- only need to stop so many plays to force a punt. However, I feel like it would be interesting to also know, how many yards they gave up with the receptions.

I feel like I'd think more of a player who allows 70% of passes to be a reception for 2.5 yards average, than someone who allows only 25%, but for 15 yards average. Those numbers are, of course, completely arbitrary and pulled out of a hat, but I think they make the point for me. It's a (simple?) metric to see, whether a player is consistently good at limiting yards gained or if it's someone who generally cover well, but has lapses in concentration... so to speak.

The others are "just" stats I'm kind of interested in knowing. :)

Average rushing yards per game can be easily calculated. It can also be guesstimated if you don't want to use a calculator. Say a RB has 857 yards in 13 games. 85/13 is 6, with 7 left over and 77/13 is just under 6, so this RB averages just under 66 yards a game.

The rest would be useful to have displayed, but I would guess it's a pain in the **** to actually implement into the game.

We did broken tackles and yards after contact in one league playing blind (no individual ratings dispalyed). Looking back after one seasonof play andtouching on the players actual ratings to correlate things.

One back playing wr had 166 touches for 687 yards and had 6/14 for BT/YAC. Hehad 69 speed and 9 breaktackle.

Another back playing as wr had 111 touches for 493 yards and had 10/71 for BT/YAC. He had 70 speed and 85 breaktackle.

This guy played mostly wr but as a RB....he had 107 touches for 667 yards and had 5/24 for BT/YAC. He had 73 speed and 68 break tackle

Total they combined 384 touches for 1827 yards with 21/109 forBT/YAC. In general i expected higher numbers......but i think rushing is pretty broke, but no one on this team had above 80 speed either .....so a very small sample.

I did this by eye and there was plenty of dragging defenders for extra yards which could be counted for yards after contact so this test might be mute as i did not addthose numbers becausethere was no clear broken tackle.
