New League and Play Familiarity

I was looking at my playbook for MFN-31. I had set all my Offensive and Defensive plays right after the draft before training camps. How come hardly any of the plays I chose have very limited familiarity compared to plays I have never even practiced? When I first picked them none of the plays had any familiarity at all.

Shouldnt we be allowed to set our plays on a new league to our own familiarity? I dont expect them to be maxed out. It just doesnt make sense that other plays are almost maxed out and I have never even practiced them in training camp or preseason

When a new league is created, each player gets a random familiarity value for each play. The more experienced a player is, the higher the cap of what that value is, but it's purely random.

That doesnt seem right because I drafted my team by my HC tendencies. I can see the original team getting set by his style instead of random. Is there a way to fix this for future new leagues?

I did the same thing in new leagues with drafting based on my coaching style.

When a league is auto-drafted the familiarity is just as random, through the season you'll build a very solid familiarity base. The players have the familiarity set before the draft, but IMO it wouldn't be worth drafting players based on that since they will learn your playbook soon enough. Drafting for your HC's style is a much more solid strategy.
