This happened twice in the same game by the way: https://mfn2.myfootballnow.com/gamecenter/view/4742#871403

At least on this play, the RB legitimately outran my FS3 who had ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS BEING ON THE FIELD. DB fatigue rates are going to be the death of me.

If you don't want that DB on the field at all, why not just deactivate him?

You can actually improve your odds of having your players on the field when you want by using overrides to do situational substitutions.

He's insurance in case my CB1/2/3/4, FS1/2, or SS1/2 get hurt. The problem is that when you have fatigue set to 60, which is the RECOMMENDED setting, your DBs get tired really quickly. Why? Who knows. How many games have you lost because the CPU decides to sub in your CB5 for your CB1 on a crucial play? I've lost at least three. I can't wait until we can control fatigue rates by position. Then at least I know it'll be my fully fatigued CB1 getting burned and not my insurance player.

This loss brought to you by janky tackling. When losing because of CROWD NOISE isn't enough, janky tackling. https://mfn47.myfootballnow.com/gamecenter/view/1169#233143

The safety on this play doesn't have the best tackling, but I don't have a better SS right now so I'm playing him with this liability. The LB that comes to clean up the play has 100 tackling and that player square engages with the RB. Doesn't even slow the RB down.

Several points:

SS - Poor tackling ability; Played a total of 54 plays (might be more fatigued than the RB, thus reducing his capabilities, e.g., tackling, speed, acceleration and strength)

SLB - Great tackling ability (100) but equal to the RB's ability to break tackles (100); Played a total of 54 plays (like the SS, he too might be more fatigued than the RB, thus reducing his capabilities, e.g., tackling, speed, acceleration and strength)

RB - Elite RB with great overall ratings, including break tackles and acceleration; Played a total of 44 plays, so likely to be less fatigued than SS and SLB

On closer inspection of the play, the SLB was to the side and slightly behind the RB when he had a chance to wrap him up. Certainly not even close to a head on (or even right angle) collision which might favor the bigger SLB (but even then the RB might break the tackle -especially if he was less fatigued). To me, it appears that the SLB might have had a chance to "arm tackle" the RB - but couldn't catch the RB who accelerated past and maybe through the SLB's grasp.

Will the RB break away every time? No. But the SLB is by no means certain to bring him down. And because your other LBs blitzed away from the direction of the play and DL was in the under position (leaving only the LDE in the area where the pass was caught) there was no one else who had a shot at him once the RB cleared the SS and sped past the SLB.

Here's another good example that everyone will prove that tackling is just fine (even though LBs are largely worthless when they are not rushing the passer): https://mfn67.myfootballnow.com/gamecenter/view/571#109822

24 (86 tackling) and 22 (52 tackling - I need a new FS) converge on the RB after the block springs him.

The RB (87 break tackle) runs right through both of them. But the safeties allow the DE (100 tackle) to come back into the play. But the RB shrugs him off like the safeties and accelerates away.

The RB is finally tracked down by the NB that has 16 tackle (easily the worst on the field and whose sole job it is to punish WRs).

I see so many of these plays that I guess everyone just loves offense, loves seeing their LBs play out of position on every play, loves watching RBs steam roll down the field like Techmo Super Bowl, that I guess I just need to live with crappy game play. I mean who wants to draft a Ray Lewis anyway.

Also fix tackling: https://cust10.myfootballnow.com/gamecenter/view/2989#594087

Still pissed off that pass blocking is so janky.

That's the famous "escort" defense. A classic.

What's sad is if tackling was fixed and the majority of the big plays went away. Then the other issues with the game would become more apparent. Right now, I think people deal with janky tackling code because some times the only way to win is to get your QB to complete 3 x 60+ yard passes in his 5/19 game.

EDIT: This game is a perfect example. Spend 45 minutes game planning. Force 4 INTs. Lose because I gave up 11 sacks and couldn't tackle. I mean that team has tackling problems, but it still shows that the best way to win close games is to throw long and pray because the game is geared to glitch offenses and not real ones: https://mfn2.myfootballnow.com/box/view/5202
