A Brand New Thread about V.4

Since it looks like my other complaint thread about the new version of the code was deleted, I'll start a new one.

Has anyone had success with the short passing game in V.4? Or has the accuracy nerfs completely ruined this too?

I went to a dedicated short passing attack because it was the only way to reliably complete more than 55% of your passes. And even then it was **** because QBs wait 4-6 seconds to throw every pass even though in the NFL under 2 seconds is a hallmark of decision making.

But in Cust-10, this approach hasn't worked at all. Instead it looks like my options are:

1) Throw the ball long every down since Courage > Punish always.
2) Rely only on the HB Flare Medium/Short, the 113 Short Attack, and the Post Flags. The first three plays have a TE seam route where the TE is never covered and 1/3 of the time the QB actually throws it to him. And the Post Flags is the HB Counter of passing.

I don't really want to go the route of 2, but that's where the game is pushing me.

I do agree that the short passing game is driving me nuts in the new sim, because the QB does not hit his 3 step drop and deliver or get rid of the ball in a timely manner. In general the QB seems to hold onto the ball until he finally feels some pressure.

I very rarely see a QB go to a hot read when under pressure. Also, it looks like the HB engaged in blocking so throw a defensive holding penalty on the defense when the QB throws it at the HBs feet has been "fixed" by allowing the DT to intercept the ball 85% of the time. Good times. Good times.

I'd like to put FGs into room 101 as well, I'm seeing a huge amount of shanked kicks, anyone else?

Agreed, had an 11h year 88 accuracy kicker miss two 47 yard attempts today in MFN10 that likely cost me the game.

I noticed I was missing a lot of kicks with good kickers. After doing some research I thought it might be because my long snapper and kick holder were both sub-par. Since then I decided to invest two roster spots (if needed) to ensuring I have players who are great at these skills.

Ex: I'll sign a 48 rated QB or P who has 99 kick holding and let him take up space on my roster if I don't already have someone who is good.

Doing this has seemed to improve my kick %, at least that's the way it feels to me.

Like War Eagle. I don't like my holder to have a skill less than 90. Same with my snapper. Sometimes, though, I can't afford the roster spot.

I still would like an explanation of exactly what changed in the short passing game. Take this QB in 2 for instance: https://mfn2.myfootballnow.com/player/6994

Last season: 4200 yards, 60% completion rate, 28:16 TD:INT ratio.
This season through three games: 837 yards, 61% completion rate, 1:8 TD:INT ratio.

He's getting sacked fewer times per game as well. Why did his INTs suddenly blow up? I'm going to leave him as my starter just so I can see if I can break 40 INTs for the year because I'm obviously tanking this season whether I game plan or not.

Before everyone gets on about the roster of that team, I know it's terrible. I've been trying to rebuild it, and I had a cakey schedule last season that allowed me to go 13-3. I know all of this. I'm just trying to figure out why QBs that had been playing really well in v.3.2 are suddenly ****.

Change of coach/playbook?
Change of receivers?
Change of OL?
Rules? (Seems everything comes down to rules these days ... lol)

I dunno .. just throwing darts at the ol dartboard thinking something might stick ;-)

I've made these posts. Completely understood. :)

My OL is different, and young, and developing. Still, they are giving up fewer sacks per game than last year.
