Announcing New Subscription Tiers!

As the real-life football season winds down, I have an exciting announcement!  Starting immediately, MyFootballNow is being changed to a subscription model.  This means that we are leaving the credit model in favor of a monthly or annual subscription.

There are four subscription plans:

Free - You can play for free in a single league for as long as you like!

Starter Pass - This plan allows you to play in as many leagues as you like, and is available for as low as $4.17/month!

Pro Pack - Love to do customizations?  Want to create your own league?  The Pro Pack is for you - unlimited customizations.  This one starts at $8.33/month!

MVP Club - Want to have ads removed?  Join the MVP club.  Our no-ad plan starts at just $12.50/month.

If you have credits on your account, you are in really great shape.  Credits will be applied to your chosen subscription at a rate of $1.67 per credit.  This means that you'll be getting a great value on the credits that you still have.

Please let me know if anyone runs into any issues with the subscriptions not working as intended. Thanks again, everyone!

I have 64 credits that I am not sure how to apply. When I look at the options, it appears I have to put in a credit card for subscription and no way to apply the credits.

The card is not charged as long as you have credits in your account. If you are wanting to activate an annual subscription without a card but have enough credits to cover it, send me a PM, I'll have to set it up manually.

From feedback in my league, the ads are the biggest hassle people deal with. Additionally, 90% of them only play in the one league. The "multi-league" first payment tier doesn't offer them anything they'll benefit from. Maybe consider offering ad-free, or customisation in the first paid tier?

Secondly, does this shift to a more expensive payment model come with some form of guarantee that the game will once again get some support?

The primary goal in doing this is to get some dollars available for development - obviously the previous model has been unsustainable as far as development goes.

Will there be a donation option for those who play in one league but would still like to contribute?

And will there be a way to gift credits to other players and/or league admins?

Tbh, you should add more payment options, like paypal. I guess a lot of ppl would rather quit, than enter their cc data.

EDIT: Oh, and the whole thing might hurt the game rather then help it - because ppl dropping leagues (because they don't want to pay) leads to ending leagues (due to lack of players) leads to other ppl dropping the game because their leagues fell apart.

When does this come into effect ?

I'm currently in 5 leagues including one roster only so I guess I now have to choose which league I want to remain in if I choose not to take out a subscription and I'm not sure I do want to as don't play the game as in depth as most and can't be bothered learning how best to exploit the game.

It's a shame but I can understand that you need to generate funds but I can see it having a serious knock on effect with leagues ended or them just being full of the same players.

Honestly hadn't thought of this, for now you could just purchase a subscription and then immediately switch back to the free tier. You'll be technically under the subscription until it expires but that would allow you to avoid getting dinged again when it does.

I'm not a huge fan of PayPal (I've personally been bitten by them on more than one occasion both as a merchant and as a consumer) but if there's enough request for it to justify the effort I'm not closed to this.

I get this sentiment, and have been really thinking about the subscription plan for really several years now, trying to figure the best way to handle it. Unfortunately the game has gotten to the point where I'm having to do other work to keep the lights on here, and that's partly why there has been so little movement here.

You will be able to finish any season you are currently in, but you'll have to have a subscription to renew in any league as long as you are currently in more than one.

Will the add free option always be MVP only or will it eventually be apart of the other sub packages?
