Injuries in pre-season

PLEASE tone it done a bit?!

I had 2 different teams that lost 2 D-line players each for periods of 7/9 weeks before the season even started. These players are established and not rookies either, plus I only set starters to play two quarters.
I can't be the only one having this bad misfortune, can I ?

+1
I pretty much bench all my best starters for the whole preseason because they alway get injured

College players get hurt in the preseason. NFL players get hurt in the preseason. Why wouldn't MFN players get hurt in the preseason?

Controlling playing time using the depth chart, active/inactive, etc is the right way to mitigate risk in this area, not artificially making the preseason safer.

Of course it's possible the injury rate is too high in both the preseason and regular season. I know I've had what feels like a lot of injuries across all of my teams in the last month, but that may simply be perception rather than reality.

i think it's a bit high recently had a league that when i entered regular season had 12 injured players, preseason settings were starters pulled at halftime stamina set a 40, so i'm curious since if i remember correctly it recommends around 50-60 stamina (lower means pull faster) just what am i supposed to do to prevent injuries since i had it set well under the recommended amount

For preseason if you follow the NFL's model of:

game 1 - rest starters after 1st quarter
game 2 - rest starters after 2nd quarter
game 3 - rest starters after 3rd quarter
game 4 - rest starters after 1st quarter

you give your starters the chance to build their conditioning (which is low at the start of the season and the reason they get injured more frequently) without too much risk.

Also, don't think of 'probable' as an injury as much as just knowing they are a little banged up. Players are marked probable more frequently here than in the NFL because in the NFL the coaches are aware of very minor injuries that don't make it to the injury report, but here there's not really a good way to get you that information without requiring you to look at each player's health each week, so 'probable' isn't necessarily an injury that you should reduce playing time for.

What numerical range makes it a probable status? For that matter what are the ranges for all statuses?

I think the injury rate is fine, how often do big names get hurt in the NFL? Most teams have anywhere from 5-10 guys out for the season by mid season. A lot of teams also have injuries in camp and during practices which is something we do not have to deal with.

Good to know that there's a need to build conditioning for veterans during preseason games.

I'm not sure if it's been suggested before or not, but I'd love to be able to set the preseason rotation logic separately by position or even player rather than just a team-wide setting. At some positions I will have a rookie starter that I want to get as much playing time as possible to build position experience, but at others I have established veterans that I want to avoid injury on. Ideally I could set the gameplan to pull all starters except at SLB where I want the rookie to play the whole game (for example).

the problem with that example is if you have a rookie play for the entire game you just pretty much guaranteed that he will be injured since he doesn't have the necessary conditioning so his fatigue will build faster and JDB has said before that the more fatigued a player is the more chance of an injury

The reason for this ? is that I would like to be able to make a decision to play injured players or sit them a game. If the probable range is 70-99 and he has an injury with a 72 probable status, do I really want to risk him going into questionable, doubtful or out by playing him.

Especially looking at your schedule, if you are playing a tough opponent, but the following game you are playing a weak opponent or vice-versa. Plus possible playoff seeding scenarios.
