Not sure where the hurt feeling come from. If you get upset when someone points out why something won't work, then yeah you probably shouldn't post suggestions.

when you said That wouldn't solve anything could translated as I should keep my thinking to myself .

anyway I thought it was better to say something and maybe have something happen than not say anything and this problem always happens on a daily occurrence or something along those lines.

I have no idea how to respond to this. I'm not going to be responsible for how you interpret what I say. You suggested something, I said it wouldn't solve anything. I don't see the problem. Do whatever you want.

TheAdrienC (The Master)

This guy should take it over, he has taken over teams in at least 3-4 Leagues and he wins or plays for Championships the very 1st year! He's amazing!!!
I wish I could play like him! He's my Hero!

I complained about this one, but missed the other two.

Not sure he's worthy of that adulation just yet, Kenchi. Every team TheAdrienC has taken over from someone else that played well, played just as well before he took it over (based on the before and after records). I'm not knocking him as a GM since he has shown he can win with an inherited competitive roster. However, I don't think he has demonstrated that he can turn around a poorly constructed team.

This is where the trade logic needs to be looked at. No interior lineman (unless their Will Shields caliber in his prime) should be traded for a 1st round pick let lone a 1st, 3rd, and player.

Granted, some owners will always be better than others and there will usually be a "winner" and "loser" in trades, but something needs to be done to protect some owners from their own stupidity.

As long as you can do trades, these kinds of things will happen. There are only two possible solutions I see at this point - either (a) stop having trades, or (b) require trades to be peer reviewed if they are more than a certain distance off the meter. (a) would result in a pretty big outrage, I'm sure, because there are a lot of players who love trades. (b) would be a major bummer during drafts because you wouldn't be able to make quick trades as the deadline approached. Sure, the meter could be tweaked, but you can't say that you can't trade a first rounder for a lineman when linemen get drafted in the first round all the time.

Requiring an owner to stay with the team a certain time after making a trade wouldn't work because they could still abandon the team, their name would just continue to be attached to it. The flip side would be to not allow a new owner in a league to make trades maybe for the entire first season, but that would make it harder for an experienced owner to start to make their own stamp on the team.

I don't know that any of the above is a better solution than what's in place now. I've tried to limit the damage bad trades can have by not giving you too many years in the future that you can trade picks for, and trying to make the trade meter strict without being too strict. I am seriously considering the (b) option above, but it won't be for a while.

I would imagine that if you did this there would be a uproar about it because there are players in leagues on this website that like trading their draft picks for a player or trading their players to get draft picks

I am guessing what you mean by peer reviewed is people in the leagues that the trades happen.
if they are viewed would that mean like if you would need a certain amount of LIKES or Votes for the trade to be widely accepted??

my thinking is no matter what you do you are going to be darned if you do and darned if you didn't do it.
Though I guess what you could do if you come to the point you want to TACKLE this issue why not open the floor to everyone where they maybe can suggest something that might work so we can have hopefully many more ideas especially if someone did think up a idea that might be better than the ones you suggested you would want to do.
Not that you have to do that.

I think draft picks should be worth more on the trade meter and aging veterans with higher ratings less. In the NFL draft picks are like gold and are valued way more. I totally see how bad gms can mess a league up so my advice is just keep working on the trade meter.
