You seem to be equating experience/knowledge/intelligence with some sort of an unfair advantage.

LG 14 you refer to my team being a super team, 2 bowls never rated top 6 in power ranking meaning my roster isn't close to the best and when a team drafts a player in first rd and two years later trades 84-99 WR for a two future first rounders to a respected and winning owner how would you consider any thing or any trade South Boston ever made unfair or dis advantage. Our best OL doesn't top 80 overall

There are a lot of factors that go into making a "super" team.

In my opinion, the #1 factor is apathy on the part of a lot of owners. Many reasons for it, not all bad.

Also, I don't expect everyone to have the same level of enthusiasm for this game, football knowledge, or even intelligence. Because of this, there will never be the level of parity that you see in the NFL.

It's not fair to criticize the owners who actually care about their teams and winning, and then put their experience to use.

I would consider some of my teams to be "super" teams. And it's true, there are many games I play with these teams where the outcome is nearly a foregone conclusion. However, those are individual games, not the entire league. Some of the leagues I am in have owners who it is clear never really seem to try to win, always going for the #1 pick. But, even in those leagues there are other owners who are very competitive and the championship could go to any one of them.

I compare the parity in MFN to that of college football, not the NFL. However, even in the NFL you usually know before the season starts that some teams are already out of the playoff hunt, and the championship is going to go to one of a handful of teams.

Other than experience/intelligence, there are no "advantages" that some owners have that are not also available to every other owner (and experience will come with time). That is the definition of a level playing field.
This of course does not include real "cheating", as that is an unfair advantage and those people should be flogged.

And along with the above .. C9 was my first team and WarEagles team was one I considered as a super team. 6 seasons have passed since I joined and he just won his first title in it.

It's maddening as **** to have a team get to the playoffs .. win the first game and then get thumped by 60 the next.

BUT .. here's my secret ..

- I have yet to watch a game.
- I know nothing about defensive schemes and offensive play sets.
- 2 offensive rules
- my gameplanning involves setting the depth chart and scouting the top 10 plays I am least familiar.

I know I'm probably not going a league championship. Closest I came was a league championship game in MFN2 and lost to Ares because I ran a gimmick pass offense the whole season. And honestly I'm kinda glad he won because I don't think I deserved it passing 70+ times a game week in and week out.

The AI can get you there .. some of the "superteams" have lost championships to them.

I didn't post in here, to get into an argument with anyone, I was merely trying to bring attention to, what I first thought, was some sort of "bug". It had never happened to me before.....I kinda panicked, I guess.

What I did to remedy the problem? I aggressively went after "Free Agents", signing 7 high -end players so far. However, in doing so I have reached my cap max. Therefore, I may be forced to try to trade away my entire draft class, if I can, and try to get future picks. Not sure how that's going to work out.

I will not abandon my team, I've never abandoned a team that I originally owned from the beginning of any league. Although I have left teams that I took over from someone else after several seasons, as I was learning the game when I first started. I'm sure, or would think, most of us has done that, before actually committing $ to the game.

I love this game just as everyone else does. And I spend most of my day right here.

Why not? I'm retired, I'm 64 yrs. old. Been married 45 yrs. (yes, I was 19 and she was 16 and no she wasn't pregnant ha!) Raised my 2 sons, they are very successful. I did my 2 tours of Viet Nam, also lost my only bother in the same war. I've had a heart attack, had 2 major surgeries back in January and February of this year.
This is my entertainment now........it's all I have. I have been told, I can drop dead, at any time now. So. if I kinda disappear, you'll know why.........and that's the ONLY reason.

I'm just here to enjoy a great game, make some friends, if possible and kick some ***!

To make real money in this genre is to keep your craft specailized enough, but not so exclusive a lay person cannot compete. I get winning, but the whole point is to drive this balance.

Otherwise, JDB will need a few users to pay alot of money to enjoy an end product. Where, if alot of users enjoy playing by putting in less effort for the same outcome could only be good for the game. That is parity and what it is for. Fair play for fun. Golf has handicaps right?

As things are now the average newbie comes in a waits seven seasons to build their own super team and finally compete.

Or put in alot of time, but to make money you have to retain these newbies not staying because they know it will be real years to compete, but do not have the desire to wait.

Its all level and fair, but not very balanced from that perspective. The avid user stays at a rate of several new ones a month. As a developer i would prefer to hold on to a better rate of alot of less avid users over retaining avid more deticated ones.

Madden fell apart when user to user interactions occurred, because "stick" as kids refered it to is prevelent and actual football is lost. Madden had a severly broken code weakened by no competion. I had more fun playing classics vs. My freinds as no real football knowledge mattered anyway. (Brutal Sports Football anyone?)

I left that monoploy long ago after some punk 14 year old stomped me by throwing deep to Moss time and time again. Sound similar....

That money is still floating around in oblivion waiting for a real simulation rise up for the masses. Or maybe not .

Your right, sometimes after first view I get a little hot. Bottom line any team considered a super team once was the same as any other. I had three losing seasons when I started cause of experience, I never thought of complaining about good teams or draft pics or trades. It's about time to start being careless about stupid talk like this. But real recognizes real and any talk of super teams is usually from unsuccessful or unexperienced owners.

Fair criticism lellow, and I can see that you did the same/similar on defense in our game in L10.
Using only a few plays on offense, especially the first game in 75, was a mistake on my part, chalk it up to what I have read & observed so far, like the 113 approach used by Infinity, the comments by setherick about it, and having cross effects in gameplanning/rules that I have fixed and continue to improve. I dont like to play with only 3 or 4 plays and dont like seeing it, so you can rest assured that I will be correcting that problem. A big part of the problem is when selecting plays for both offense and defense, and you look at the average per play, it starts narrowing down your choices, unless you just want to run a play irregardless of whether or not it is working for you. On defense, that narrows it down from 30 to around 10, at least from the numbers on my plays. On offense, it cuts it to around 20, with several that have much better average per play than others. Right? Apparently, Brysons (blackflys brother for those who do not know) playcalling variety is acceptable, even though it is also targeted and based on most successful results as all his teams win their division and many league championships. I dont think there is a gm winning more than he does, other than his brother. So, in the interest of leveling the playing field, might be a good idea to post the numbers on his plays, which for defense is over 90% blitzes with double LB's. For those of you who want to cry "thats not real football" when it suits your purpose relative to this game, how many pro teams blitz 2 LBs over 90% of the play calls? Yeah, the answer is none. But, if you dont match that when the best teams are doing that, you are going to lose.

Show me . Cause I got numbers right In front of me. I never would run a play even close to 90 percent

LG 68 that play was run under 20 percent
I'll keep you posted when I check the rest
