Hmmm, are you also calling Brysons plays? lol, that would be funny.
What about my playcalling in 75 do you have a problem with. Curious where this is all coming from?

I dont have a problem with it, just referring to it as being limited to successful plays, which is what anyone should do. Im using most of the same plays, why? Because when you go to choose defensive plays they show what average yardage they give up, at this early stage in 75, a lot of def plays just show off/def % of experience when you click on the view. Ive been blitzing a lot, over 90% as those are the plays that have produced positive results, my offense was a mistake as Im still learning how to combine the gameplan and playcall, which I have fixed and will continue to improve. It actually worked to your advantage in our game in 75, which I also learned from.

I guess you're missing the point, you can do anything you want. I never said a thing, yet you call me out multiple times. I just don't get it. One minute you're asking me for advice and messaging me about your teams and the next i read you using me in your posts negatively. Sometimes i wonder what your agenda is. You call out teams for stuff and then you emulate them. Trying to be innovative on this game is a challenge enough but i am evolving with every team i take. I treat people with respect on this game and its just strange that you enjoy making people angry. No hard feelings, we can agree to disagree. Good luck with your teams, I'll try to steer clear

Bottom line is you asked question after question and we helped then you copied someone's draft almost to the tee and act this way. Never will I respect someone who copies another owners strategys in such depth. You pretty much pissing me off and regret inviting you into 75 without doing anything or having any success just kissing *** so well that let you know some things we knew. You can win every league I won't ever respect you. I'm out this forum

I can understand both of your takes and feelings on this, and I apologize for any misunderstanding and hard feelings that I may have caused. But, so you both know, I didnt just learn what I know so far about this game from you both only. There are several other gms that I messaged and were gracious enough to give me their advice and knowledge. In addition, I spent a lot of time looking at successful team player compositions, I did my homework, which resulted in a very successful first draft that I participated in. I didnt get much, other than generalizations, about what plays were best, gameplanning, rules, and overrides. I did get a lot of good advice about player value and which attributes were the most critical, but that is really no big secret when you look at successful team composition, of which you both have the most successful teams on here. I have messaged privately and will do so from now on, no more "calling out" for me and I sincerely apologize for angst & bother. At the same time, I hope it improves the competitive level for a lot of gms that may or may not be aware of what provides a competitive advantage, and quit "feeding" those who use it. Its like playing Monopoly, when you know what it takes to win, which is getting that first block of properties with hotels on them. And you have to sit there and watch a less intelligent or knowledgable player give the other a block without getting one themselves, or getting one w/o having any money to put houses/hotels while the other guy is loaded, the one who made the deal offer. You know what I mean? Have you ever experienced that in the game of Monopoly? When you know that now you dont have a chance to win because of a dumb deal by another player? Or are you always that player who jumps on the weakest one first, to get that block of properties. lol

In 75 there is not enough data yet to know which plays will work for you or not, offense or defense. Most of your players are probably still learning the plays to begin with.

In a new league, such as 75, I usually pick my plays for offense and defense, and then don't change them at all until I have used them for a season. There are some plays that may work for others, but have never worked for me, so I avoid them by default. I try to have a variety of plays from every formation so I won't be too easy to scout. But, I have no idea how successful my plays are, or how many times I run a certain play, because I have NO confidence in the accuracy of the numbers displayed in the play selection screens.

I have been pretty successful without ever trying to limit my plays, or even have a rule to run a specific play (or formation), other than in some leagues I have a rule to always run it on 1st and goal from the 2 or less.

My point is that you can win in MFN and still have a good variety of plays on both offense and defense. You don't have to blitz all the time (I probably blitz less than most), and you don't have to limit your offense to just a few plays.

You make it sound like there is only one way to be competitive, which if your posts are an indication of what you think that way is, I am proof it is not true.

You can find plays and players that will work for you and build your team into a perennial contender while still having the type of team you want to have, but it doesn't come overnight.

Be patient.

And this thread is the reason i wish at times we could lock a thread until a admin can decide to either keep it locked or give everyone a warning to keep on topic.

Seems like after the 3rd page this thread has gone on a downward spiral and you could say it has gone off topic that probably has nothing to do with MFN 67.

Still the average newbie sees the potenail in this game, but also will eventually see its faults. This disscusion is the difference of holding on to an average users attention with the goal of possibly winning rather sooner than later.

Do what Gdad did and learn the game quick with time and effort and compete. Or wait, because some vets got the lock on that league for real years.

Very few users walked in to 9 and won the big. I hope ares doesnt mind the name drop here but he legitly built a franchise in the matter of an allocation with some trades i think. All done fair and all as he dropped that team half way through the leagues span and a league rival snatched his team up to continue it s success. No name drop but much repect for this avid vet too! (This team has been in 7 out of 9 super bowls) When I had started that team had 23 players rated higher than my highest player. The parity is better now but i was blown away to see that.

But the only problem is it took war eagle, an avid vet that i hope does not mind the name drop, a long time to compete. I am not questioning the time or effort, but that this pattern is very real and as a new player i was imediatly turned off to find this parity.

One that is still common today. Its just not that great for the games image. It beta now ,but it is still a problem that will take another real year to see some if the desired effects were achieved through the latest changes.

Until then gdad right plain and simple. No matter what anybody says. The game will be slow to feel as users continue to find ways to save money and new deticated owners will experience the same thing trying to match the talent level on top teams through common well known game strageties.

This is the AI not valueing anything that actually works in the game. Its great to have all this control but the AI has limited skill and is as much to blame.

Perhaps a more aggressive stance should be taken by the AI - right now you get the warning that you have contracts that are about to expire, but this has two problems: 1) sometimes you do want to let the contracts expire, and so you don't want to be bothered with that message after every sim because you're done, and 2) if an owner is not logging in or is just ignoring it, all their players go to free agency. (I tried to time it where if you don't log in during the time that the warning would show then you lose the team at the end of the season and the AI re-signs everyone, so it's probably more of a problem of owners not seeing and/or ignoring the warning)

What if, instead of the way it works now, as you near the end of the season you get a warning like this:

You have players who are in the last year of their contract and must be re-signed in order to continue to be on your team. If you do not offer a contract to these players before the end of the season, the AI will attempt to sign them for you. If you are not interested in re-signing these players, [click here] to clear this message for the rest of this season.

You would have the ability to close the message like you can now, which would cause it to appear again after the next sim if you still have unsigned players, as it does now. But if you were to click on the link to clear the message for the rest of the season, the message would not be displayed again and the AI would not re-sign any players to an extension. Essentially it still would give you the same control you have now but the default would be to have everyone get re-signed unless you knowingly were letting your player contracts expire.

Thoughts?

The problem is more to do with the competition and lack of. You have 5 real good users and 27 below average to average gms experience wise your gonna get a team outta allocation draft that would compete and win like Ares franchise . Now if you added Eagle , Lellow. Sethrick, and infinity all at one time to start a season you would see a completely different league. Then the chances of that team TOSU took over winning it go from 70 percent to 30 . Estimate. Reason for that is those owners are gonna know what to do and the players they need to acquire for there scheme to be able to stop that team enough to be a good match even with a worse roster. The best way IMO to have more balanced leagues is to have beginner leagues and go up from there whatever way is best to have certain levels of the talent and experience in the owners. I think to have in depth records of owners and there history and with wins and playoff appearances they acquire a rating that can go up and down depending on there seasons. This might sound crazy but it would cut down 70 point wins and 60 TD pass seasons. Allowing a new owner to sign up and join any league is bad for the league. Having restrictions on what leagues they can join.

LG 2 is a perfect example of a dominating franchise Chicago with more first rounders then any team probably ever on this game. Went from super bowl after another to being luckier then any franchise on the game in order to make the important games. He has the best team by far but it's not a walk thru like before .None of the changes in success and results in LG 2 had to do with free agents but all to do with gaining the same stature of owners .
